Setting up Authenticator App on a new phone
When you get a new phone, you'll need to register your new phone for Multifactor Authentication and remove your old phone.
1. Go to Account Security Info Page.
- You may be prompted to authenticate.
- Choose "I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now" and select another option from the list.
- If none of those alternate methods work, please contact ITsupport@gravityglobal.com to get a temporary access PIN.
2. Delete the current "Microsoft Authenticator" sign-in method from the list
3. Select.+ Add sign-in method and choose Authenticator App
4. Follow the prompts on screen to get to the QR Code.
5. On your mobile device, with Microsoft Authenticator installed, choose Add New account (the + icon on some devices) or go to the existing account that is not working.
- If prompted for what kind of account to add, choose "Work or School Account"
6. Follow prompts to scan the QR code on your screen with your phone.
7. Follow prompts to confirm setup.
8. Select "Set default sign-in method" and choose "App based authentication -notification" from the drop down list.
