Installing a website as a Progressive Web App (PWA)
Progressive Web Apps (PWA) are websites that you can turn into Apps. This can give you additional features that the website alone might not have, like right-click options and help you manage all your different websites and apps.
Why would I do this?
Use Teams on a different account if you need to access a client or another companies Teams. You can run one via regular app and one as a PWA so you can use both at the same time.
How to setup a website as a PWA
You will need to be using Microsoft Edge as the browser.
- If you are on Windows, you already have it installed on your computer. You can find via the search bar or in your list of programs.
- If you are on macOS you can download it from Gravity Global Self Service if you don't already have it
1. Navigate to the website you wish to install. (for example, Teams)
2. Select the 3 dots in the top right corner of the browser to open the menu.
3. Scroll down to "Apps" and select "Install This Site as an app"
4. Confirm or change the name as you want and any other settings when prompted.
Done! Now you can use this website as an app.
You can manage and open your apps by going back to the "Apps" section in the browser menu.
